The landscape walk Alden Biesen, on the eastern slope of the Demer valley, takes you past the high-stem orchards of the Alden Biesen estate, expansive fields on the plateaus, stream valleys with wet micro-nature, and stunning panoramas. In the heart of the area stands the Alden Biesen commandery, proudly showcasing its monumental castle site that has left a significant mark on the surroundings and the history of the region.
You can easily shorten this walking route. At the nature reserve Molenbeemd, follow the brown crosses and then rejoin the yellow route a bit further on.
