In Wurfeld, the Bosbeek forms the natural boundary between two contrasting landscapes. In the Tösch, there is a marshy environment with wet woodlands, ponds, thickets, and bushes. On the northern side of the winding Bosbeek lies the area of Langeren. Here, farmland and meadows primarily define the view. You can find a wealth of small landscape elements such as hedgerows and tree edges over 100 years old. This brook still has numerous watermills, such as the Klaaskensmolen in Neeroeteren, the last functioning sawmill in Flanders, and the Wurfeldermolen in Wurfeld.
