A visit to the 143-hectare estate of Hobos takes you several centuries back in time. The name means 'high located forest', as it is situated on one of the highest points in Overpelt. It is the home of drossaard Clerckx, the famous judge who sent dozens of Bokkenrijders to the gallows. Today, it is a beautiful, untouched piece of nature, free from pesticides, featuring a historic manor house and farmstead. You can discover old landscape elements, as well as wet and dry natural areas that provide a home to rare species such as the nightjar and the smooth snake. The Grote Hof is also a remarkable piece of Overpelt's heritage. In short: a walk that brings culture and nature together in an idyllic way!
