The routes take you past fields, meadows, and active farms: both large-scale and charming small-scale, occasionally still bordered by remarkable hedgerows. Some meadows are an invitation for rare meadow birds such as curlew and godwit. In various places, you can still see the remnants of the former wetland in the form of wet oak, birch, and alder forest patches. The Zuid-Willemsvaart is a striking landmark in the landscape that borders the area along the northern side.
