The Streek-GR Haspengouw is a loop-shaped long-distance route through Haspengouw. The route is 182 km long: a main route of 130 km and an additional 52 km of connecting paths, allowing you to create shorter loops as well!
You walk through valuable creek valleys, past castles and monumental farms, through farmer villages, and along numerous hidden green gems. On the plateaus, you can enjoy expansive landscapes, with views sometimes reaching as far as Liège. Landscape, nature, and culture come together here, shaping a splendid scenery.

The adventurous hiker who turns walking into a day trip will find everything they want with the Streek-GR Haspengouw. You can link different walking routes together for a multi-day hiking holiday. Those traveling by train can start from the stations of Sint-Truiden, Alken, or Tongeren. Each village center is also accessible by bus. In the vicinity of the region GR, there are several nice accommodations. So, it’s very easy to create a multi-day hiking adventure.
