We took this autumn walk on 10/09/2025 (15,869 steps)

A circular route through the Limburg Kempen, where relative silence and nature dominate. This route starts at Kamertstraat in Hechtel and winds its way through 17 junctions in a varied landscape of forests, open fields, and quiet residential streets.

📸 What you encounter along the way

Windmill: a charming old windmill with a painted weather vane on the mill's tower.

The Cross Chapel: a modest chapel along the path, a place for a moment of reflection.

Viewpoint tower: a playful element along the route, fun for young and old.

Picnic area with ample parking: ideal for a break with a view of the surrounding greenery.

Monument on the Market Square: a tribute to the fallen of both World Wars.

🍽️ Brasserie De Meule invites you for a stop with a local drink or snack on a typical Limburg terrace.

🔊 Sound atmosphere Although the route mostly runs through quiet nature areas, the background noise of a nearby shooting range is regularly audible. For us, this was not disturbing, rather a fixed part of the local ambiance.
