Wezemaal - Aarschot

Beautiful varied station walk through the 'Hageland'. We left at the stop of 'Wezemaal' and first went a short distance over the 'Wijngaardberg' and then descended to the 'Winge valley'. We made an extra loop to make the trip a little longer. Along the banks of the Winge we pass the beautifully restored 'Uitemmolen'.

Via quiet streets, hollow roads, field roads we arrive at the state nature reserve 'Beninksberg'. In the reserve one must stay on the only accessible hiking trail, dogs are NOT allowed, not even on a leash.

At the end of this path we arrive at the Hellegat. This is a street with a considerable rise, this is especially noticeable to the toiling cyclists who meet us. Fortunately, we can take the slope downhill towards 'Gelrode'. From 'Gelrode' it goes through the fields towards 'Het Kloesebos' which turns into the 'Eikelberg'. Then we take the 'Gijzelaarsstraat' which takes us to the station of 'Aarschot'.

During this walk the highway is never far away but was not experienced by us as very disturbing.
