Heritage walk offered by Erfgoed Vlaanderen (more info: www.toekomstvooronsverleden.be) and published in the book 'Steengoed! 40 surprising heritage walks through Flanders'.
Ninove bears traces of the 19th-century working-class neighbourhoods that arose around match factories and textile workshops. The former abbey church and the excavations of the Norbertine abbey flash the walker back to the time when Ninove supplied large medieval cities such as Ghent, Bruges and Antwerp with the necessary quantities of grain.
