Heritage walk offered by Erfgoed Vlaanderen (more info: www.toekomstvooronsverleden.be) and published in the book 'Steengoed! 40 surprising heritage walks through Flanders'.
Miners, from directors to simple workers, lived in their own cité that was completely self-sufficient. The last Limburg coal was extracted on 30 September 1992. So many years later, the garden districts of Beringen-Mijn still give a good impression of the separate urbanism and the large space that the designers had at their disposal. A heritage walk along very specific and sometimes surprising buildings awaits us.
