The Scheldt village of Bornem has a fascinating history: finds prove that there was already habitation in the Gallo-Roman period. You can clearly see the history of Bornem in the streets. For the walk along castles, pleasure gardens, beautiful mansions, popular low houses, chapels, abbeys and the natural beauty of the Scheldt, it is best to put on a pair of sturdy walking shoes: the distance is more than ten kilometers.
