This varied route takes you past some of the highlights of the Noorderkempen. You will encounter the Bakkersmolen in Essen, which houses a steam and bakery museum with delicious brasserie, the vast Maatjes (with watchtower De Klot) and continue through Loenhout with its rural panorama amidst meadows and fields, typical of this region.

You cycle past the Ecoduct De Munt, a 60-meter wide viaduct with a length of 100 meters. The Ecoduct helps animals cross the road. Then you see the beautiful tower of St. Catherine's Church in the distance as a beacon on the horizon, then you are almost in Hoogstraten. This northernmost city in the province of Antwerp is the perfect stopover to enjoy a cozy terrace or a delicious lunch.

Enjoying the charming and rural roads in Rijkevorsel and Brecht, you arrive at Marum, where you cycle over a Bailey bridge. This bridge was built by the army at the end of World War II to allow heavy vehicles to cross the Kleine Aa.

Back towards Kalmthout, you continue your tour on beautiful dirt roads next to the Groot Schietveld, through the Beersgat, the park of the Franciscan nuns and Gooreind.
