During this walking route, you will discover the tranquil charm of Oudenaken and its surroundings. You start at the Parish Church of St. Peter's Chains, a Neo-Gothic aisle church surrounded by old gravestones that tell stories from times long past. As you continue walking, you will pass by the Church of Oudenaken, where the history of the Dutch troops is still palpable. The route then leads you to Zwaenhofstede, an authentic farm, and further to the distinctive tree gates of horse chestnuts that adorn the entrance. You end at a white-painted farmhouse with a walled front garden, a beautiful example of local architecture. This circular route of 4.9 kilometers is perfect for a relaxing walk with the family, where you can enjoy nature and the rich history of the region together.
