From the village of Moorsel, we depart for a delightful nature walk to and from the Faluintjes, one of the most beautiful green areas in the Faluintjes region. Right at the start, we pass the impressive Water Castle of Moorsel, a medieval castle first mentioned in the 12th century, which for centuries was the seat of the lords of Moorsel. The castle is completely surrounded by water and is considered one of the best-preserved water castles in Flanders today.
Further along, we walk through the Faluintjes, known for their wet grasslands, wildflower meadows, and winding streams. This valuable nature reserve is a paradise for meadow birds and houses a rich variety of plants. Please note that the ground can sometimes be muddy, so waterproof hiking shoes are definitely recommended. A beautiful hike full of nature, tranquility, and history. 🌿🥾
DEPARTURE & ARRIVAL at Gudul's Kafeé, a cozy and characterful local café where time seems to have stood still. Be sure to drop in.
