Beautiful not too long walk along slow hollow roads with some small climbs.

Starting point: at the St. Bernardus Church from 1860, you can find the graves of the fallen soldiers of the Commonwealth during World War II at the end of the cemetery. Right next to the church, you see the imposing closed farm. Then you descend further down Kerkstraat and at the intersection, you briefly follow Lanestraat to the left.

A little further, you come to a small bridge over the Laan. Here you find words on the sign that Emperor Charles reportedly spoke after he was rescued from the then marshes: “My coach once drowned here in the swamp of the lane. Tombekenaars proudly brought me on firm ground. My thanks was Tombeek-Hei – 1531 Emperor Charles.” He is said to have donated a large piece of land to the community as thanks. You return a little back to Café Oud Sint Elooi at KNPT 305 where you turn left into Zavelberg towards KNPT 303. A bit further, the asphalt turns into cobblestones and further still into an unpaved path.

The unpaved path is almost immediately enclosed and becomes a deep hollow road. Be careful, a bit further you can go left onto a berm with a nice view of the valley of the Laan, which actually springs in Walloon Lasne. The deep hollow road continues until a T-junction where you go right and then left at KNPT 303 towards KNPT 334.

You walk here on a plateau between the fields. At an intersection of walking paths, you turn right onto a narrow path that dives into a forest further on via a descending hollow road. At the end, you climb back slightly and come to a small asphalt road, De Reulenbeek. A nice attraction is at one of the houses where they have transformed a boxwood into a Duvel drinker with accompanying text. At the intersection, turn right. You follow this for 200 m and then turn back onto a field path further towards KNPT 334. Here, take the right into Borrestraat until the intersection with Herestraat, follow straight ahead towards KNPT 301.

Borrestraat becomes an unpaved road leading to a gate that you must pass. You will also find tips on what to do when encountering a hunting raptor. You return to a beautiful forest area on the slow road 't Gezuurde Veld, passing the large castle estate Ter Dect of about 10 hectares, which has origins dating back to the Middle Ages (private). On your right side, you see a beautiful pond with an island.

After a water station, you end up in a quiet neighborhood, Terdekdelleweg. At walking junction 306, you head briefly towards KNPT 307 but shortly after, turn right onto a narrow walking path. You come back to Terdekdelleweg. You climb a narrow staircase and turn left where a bit further, you arrive at the church and thus also your earlier starting point.
