Walking Route - the most beautiful (avoid ferry)

Near the restaurant Het Brughuis, there are several parking options (Muizen station, St. Lambertus Church, or along the road on parking strips).

About 100 meters from restaurant Het Brughuis, you will find the Nature Center of Mechels broek, which you can visit and where you can also use the restroom. The start of the route is asphalt, which later changes to a paved road. You pass the gate of the reserve and can enjoy the silence and beautiful nature, with no cars or bicycles. You will occasionally cross small bridges (walkways) until you reach the dike of the Dijle. In the distance, you can see the St. Romboutstoren and the church of Pasbrug. After about half a kilometer, turn right and leave the Dijledijk. A bit further, there are water pools on the left and right with a large number of birds. At the end of this path you descend a little and follow a few more bridges. You go through several kilometers along fields to eventually come back to the paved Muizenhoekstraat. Follow this until you return to Het Brughuis.
