Did you know that there are still quite a few remnants of the First and Second World Wars visible in the landscape of Groenendaal?
The relics from both World Wars are scattered throughout the Sonian Forest, which is about 5,000 ha in size. During these walks, you will discover some of them, including remnants of the ammunition depot, foundations of barracks, German antenna masts, and craters from exploded bombs. Be warned: these relics are not marked in the landscape, so you need to be attentive along the way to avoid walking past them.
