The village of Grazen is located on the edge of the beautiful Getevallei in the far corner of East Brabant, on the border between Flemish Brabant and Limburg. This is still a bit of Wet Haspengouw. A ring of streams, wet meadows, and poplar forests surrounds the fertile fields around the village green. In spring, the blossoms of the pear trees cloak the largest fruit garden in Flanders completely in white. Once, this was the Land of Loon. The Grazen win, the water mill, and the Abbey of Oriënten were clear signs of the power of the Count of Loon and a thorn in the side of the eager neighbor, the Duke of Brabant. Today, the residents of Grazen still greet you in the melodious Truierland. The village is rich in stories. On this journey, you will learn more about a frivolous abbess and the violence of the goat riders.
