This is a route originally mapped out by KW Roeselare, with the original start at the cycling museum Koers Polenplein Roeselare. The ride starts there at junction 1. There is ample parking available, albeit paid except on Sundays. If you park near what they call the 'Kop van de Vaart' in Roeselare, you might get away without paying.
But we always choose to start as close to home as possible, hence at junction 14 where we actually live just 3 km away and can therefore cycle there.
There is a search connected to it in July/August 2026, but even without it, this is a very beautiful and pleasant tour to cycle. You cycle along rural roads, low-traffic, sometimes car-free. This is the case at Schiervelde in Roeselare, where you cycle past the football field and the Grote Bassin, which is car-free. You only have to take into account pedestrians, and they are always around. Then, continue through the center to Koers to make a U-turn and ride out of the center via the shopping street (Ooststraat). In Beveren, a district of Roeselare, we go back to low-traffic. We follow the Krommebeek for quite a while, again car-free, and enjoy nature as we ride back to Roeselare. We made a stop at the Foederhuis at the Rodenbach brewery to strengthen our inner selves. You can always go there without a reservation. After that, we continue to the Sterrebos where you can take another break, step into nature, and seek the shade.
From one nature area to another as we pass the Bergmolenbos and the accompanying walking and cycling zones. An ideal place for a picnic if you want and if the weather permits of course.
We continue towards Beitem and ride a part of the former train connection Roeselare-Menen, the Kezelberg route, car-free of course.
Then, we cycle back to the starting point along quiet roads.
On this route, there are plenty of places to drink and/or eat, depending on what day it is of course. But on weekends, this is usually not a problem.
