Description by the author

The R.E.V route for motorcycles is a tribute to one of the most iconic cycling loops in Flanders, carefully redesigned so that you can experience Remco Evenepoel's training area almost entirely on two motorized wheels.

The R.E.V route has become one of the most popular cycling routes on RouteYou, as it combines Remco Evenepoel's favorite training roads and climbs through Pajottenland and on the edge of the Flemish Ardennes into one loop. With this motorized variant, you follow more than 90% of that original route, allowing you to take in the same undulating landscapes, cobbled sections, and views, but at a pace and route layout that better suit motorcyclists.

Because you can't safely or comfortably pass everywhere with the motorcycle, the most narrow and less suitable parts have been deliberately avoided without losing the essence of the route. The loop is designed in a clockwise manner so that you generally have to turn right more often than left, which is noticeably safer and calmer to ride on a motorcycle in winding, slightly hilly terrain.

Due to the many curves, short inclines, and village passages, you can expect a realistic average speed of about 40 km/h; this is not a fast route, but a journey to consciously ride calmly and smoothly. It is this lower speed that allows you to fully enjoy the Bruegel landscape, the typical Pajot villages, and the transition to the Flemish Ardennes, where the terrain becomes a bit sharper and the panoramas open wider.

This motorcycle route is conceived as an ode to the cycling legend from Schepdaal: Remco Evenepoel, who has his base and training routes here. You start and end at his supporters' café "In de Rustberg" in Schepdaal, near where he grew up, making the ride not only a scenic exploration but also a journey through the personal backdrop of his cycling career.
