The Limburgse Kempen is an excellent region for those who like to taste beer. The region has four craft breweries including the Trappist brewery of Achel.

In the St. Benedict Abbey De Achelse Kluis, the authentic Trappist beer has been brewed again since 1998. In the inn you can taste the barrel. Since 2001, the Achel "8" is also available in bottles.

SIGNAGE
The different junctions are numbered and clearly visible on blue rectangular signs. The signs signpost the cycling routes in two directions. In this way you cycle from node to node via a simple system.

NATURE OF THE ROAD
You drive through a quiet, rural environment. You cycle on flat roads, about half of which are car-free.

In Hamont-Achel, in addition to tasting the Achel Trappist and the Grevenbroecker - a blue cheese that won the prestigious Caseus Award (or the world championship for cheeses) in Lyon in 2009 - you can also visit the Catharinadal cheese dairy (by appointment). But you can also be surprised by some regional menus in one of the local restaurants.
