Hiking between Donk (Maldegem) and Moerkerke

This walk starts at the church of Donk (Maldegem). The streets are lined with centuries-old oaks. You walk in the midst of nature, as it is currently shaped by agriculture (much meadowland). In this quiet and peaceful area, there are many large farms. A place to relax. In Moerkerke and Donk, there are dining options.
You start on Brezendedreef, named after the Brezendehoeve, a farm with centuries-old roots. Follow this fairly wide but quiet path, which merges into Scheewege. At a certain point, you can choose a smaller, even quieter path straight ahead: Strijktiende, which you promptly do. At the end, turn left into Kleverstraat, which merges into Scheewege (actually the same path). Then take the first street on the right into Moerkerkebrug. Continue towards the center of Moerkerke, where you can relax. The way back follows the same route, but now choose Sareptastraat towards Sijsele and the golf course of Damme. Sarepta refers to the Sareptakapelle and the Sareptahoeve, which lie along the way. You keep going straight, even though the name changes to Stoofstraat. At the end of Stoofstraat, you turn left into Antwerpse Heirweg. Follow this road to the center of Donk (Maldegem).
