The Maasland is a cycling paradise: flat and mostly car-free paths take you through the cord of Maasdorpjes. The villages charm with their medieval cores and fairytale atmosphere. This route takes you via Kessenich through the northeastern part of the Maasland. Along the way you will encounter many cultural-historical sights. Some highlights are the statue of the Van Eyck brothers in Maaseik, the Aldeneik wine estate and the white town of Thorn. Be sure to make a stopover in Stevensweert with its fascinating fortifications and in Maasbracht with the Maas- en Scheepvaartmuseum.
NATURE OF THE ROAD This route without slopes runs through the water area of the Meuse between Belgium and the Netherlands.
