Leuven - Werchter - Rotselaar car-free along Dijle, Demer & Vunt

Departure directly outside of Leuven near the Tiensesteenweg in Adj. Harboortstraat, where we cross the bicycle bridge over the tracks and continue straight towards Tiensepoort via Bierbeekstraat. Along the ring road past the Provincial House and the train station, we reach Vaartkom, where we follow the canal until Metaleuven, where we turn left onto Dijledreef at the road to the right of the company. We follow this until Aarschotsesteenweg. We cross and turn right, through the bicycle tunnel at the height of Ecowerf, and continue towards Aarschot. After 250 meters, having passed under the railway, we turn left immediately onto the car-free bike path towards Wijgmaal. We follow the paved bike path along the Dijle, which we cross three times with bicycle bridges, until we reach the Wijgmaal train station.
In Wijgmaal, we turn right onto Remylaan, which we follow for 250 m and then take the first road on the left. At the height of the Ymeria sports hall, we turn left and 125 m further right into Wijgmaalbroek towards Rotselaar. After 750 meters, we enter the nature reserve "Wijgmaalbroek" via beautiful paved bike paths until we reach Vijfde Liniestraat, which we follow for 250 m to the bridge over the Dijle at the watermill. We turn left and via Achterheidestraat and Dijlekant we reach the provincial road between Rotselaar and Werchter. We cross and continue for 350 m to the intersection, where we turn right towards Demer. We ride up Demerdijk and follow it for 2 km to the bicycle bridge. We cross and continue on the bike path for another 750 m to Vakenstraat. We turn left and after a few meters immediately right into the area "Ter Heide". Past the parking lot, we turn left and ride over the bike/pedestrian path 2/3 around the pond. We leave the path around the pond and come onto Steenweg in Wezemaal, which we follow left for 250 m, after which we turn right into Gildenstraat and then immediately right into Wingestraat. Through the forest, we reach Beversluis, which we ride to the end on the right. At the end, we turn left onto the unpaved bike path towards Rotselaar. At the end, at the height of the railway, we ride right on Drielindenstraat to the traffic lights of Stationsstraat, where we cross. Past Danone, we turn left, and after 200 meters we turn right towards Wilsele Putkapel. After the next bend in the road, we ride right onto the fields (Follow the sign for the bicycle tour Leuven). We go straight until we reach Schotelveldstraat, where we turn right and cross Elzasstraat onto the road towards Wijgmaal. We cross Weggevoerdenstraat diagonally right to enter Vuntlaan on the other side. After 350 m, we take Vuntpad on the left side of the road, which we follow until Aarschotsesteenweg. We cross and turn left briefly to go directly onto Pleinstraat on the other side, cross the railway, pass under the E314 and turn right over Klein Langeveld (Holsbeek-Plein) towards Kessel-Lo. Along the newly constructed bike path, we follow the railway tracks and pass under Vuntkomplex, ending up at the first roundabout of Eénmeilaan (we avoid the dangerous E314 entrance complex).

At the end of Eénmeilaan at De Becker Remyplein, we go straight through the roundabout and follow the bike path to the second street on the right (Paternosterstraat) to Diestsesteenweg, which we cross. We enter Werkhuizenstraat, then left at the top into J. Wautersstraat, right over Lovensveldstraat, where we turn left at the end into Willem Coosemansstraat until the roundabout at the end of König Albertlaan. Along the hockey field, we go straight until Platte-Lostraat, which we take right towards Tiensesteenweg. We cross at the traffic lights and return to our starting point.
