In Berendrecht and Zandvliet there are still numerous, sometimes hidden, slow paths.
Slow paths are connections between roads and districts, primarily intended for cyclists, pedestrians, and riders. Sometimes they have been newly created, but they may also have been in use for hundreds of years. The main functions are: recreation, safe mobility, nature experience, and cultural heritage. These functions can be jeopardized by neglect or precisely by excessive modernization.
The varied route of this hike is mostly car-free and leads through woods, heath, polder, and village.
