Green Belt Route, 120 km

Route in connection with the Gordel Festival, particularly aimed at experienced cyclists. The route is more beautiful, greener, and sportier than before. You will discover the green lungs of nearly all the outskirts around Brussels and experience firsthand that our capital is built in an area with many hills. With the clock hands, you ride from the Bloso Center in Hofstade through the relatively flat 'vegetable area' of Brabantse Kautern in the north, to connect to the beautiful IJse valley in the east.

Through a 'healthy' passage through the beautiful Zoniën Forest, you reach the Flemish southern edge, where you can take a break in the Huizingen provincial area after some challenging elevation meters.

You will then connect to the Zenne Valley in the north over the hilly Pajottenland and its Breughel-like panoramas in the west, to reach Hofstade again.

There are two additional stops planned on the way: at the community center 'De Bosuil' in Jezus-Eik and at the community center 'De Zandloper' in Wemmel.

This unique symbolic loop around Brussels is ready to once again become the sporting cycling classic of the first Sunday in September.
