Description by the author

Day of the Slow Road 2014, TWZemst, Short loop (5,0km).
Departure and arrival at the Meeting Centre Hofstade.
Loop runs along slow and forest roads in a counterclockwise direction along Gasthuishofweg, Barebeekbos, characteristic (but closed by E19) Buurtweg Hofstade-Zemst, with branch to Buurtweg Zemst-Elewijt between the Zenne and the Barebeek ('Vriezenbroek' in Weerde, 'Broekstraat' in Elewijt).
After the Paardenboerderij we take the left the footpath 49 (Elewijt) and footpath 23 (Weerde) through the (regularly soggy but beautiful) wooded Vriezenbroek section.
Via the Barebeek and footpath 49 we return to our starting point.

In very soggy weather and when using a stroller, it is advisable to continue to follow the south side of the undercut railway line 27b (paved dolomite asphalt) on the Senne to the Barebeek, to which the loop on the other side of the Vriezenbroekbos reconnects.

About halfway (after 2.25 km) the guided group will stop briefly at the concrete Pedestrian Bridge (= neighborhood road 26) over the Senne, north of the railway line 27b.
In the context of the banner campaign 'Doorgang voor Iedereen' (http://www.kinkindelink.be/entityform/27 ), the political leaders involved (Zemst, Flemish Brabant, Flemish Region) will hand over a requested written answer to the bridge builders, which we will also post on our fan page, https://www.facebook.com/FietsEnWandelbrugE19 . The concrete pedestrian bridge, of which neighborhood road 26 was part, had and still has an important functional and recreational local and supralocal impact.
Deputy Tom Dehaene has already promised for the walk and delivery of the letter.

There will also be a short playful action on this pedestrian bridge, in which the 300th liker of 'Fiets-en-Wandelbrug E19' will also be celebrated.

This walk and action runs in collaboration with Trage Wegen Zemst https://www.facebook.com/TrageWegenZemst or see https://plus.google.com/+TrageWegenZemst
