This loop of neighborhood and footpaths in Elewijt runs in a loop around Elewijt.
This offers a unique view of the rural Elewijt of the past and the current development.

2 locations are quite tricky: under the E19, the tube of the Hondsleibeek is taken - parallel to the vanished footpath 22 - (you can pass through, see POIs), and it is usually dry there).
Then you have to go through an 'original marsh' that connected the Elewijt-Weerde path (neighborhood path 4 Weerde and 8 Elewijt). Take off your shoes and socks here if you want to continue the tour with dry feet...
Additionally, a parallel path to the original footpath 22 is taken. For this, you need to cross the Hondsleibeek 3 times (see POIs).
For a trailer, this is a dream condition, but a SEVERE course in wet weather. You really do not need to go to the physiotherapist for a mud bath anymore! He offered this for free on a silver platter!

Alternatively, you can also take the bridge over the Barebeek further north at Broekstraat.

Sometimes the paths are paved, regularly there are footpaths with paving stones under your feet, but also field paths and unpaved sections lie along the way. So wear good footwear in the rain!
