Palul(len) can mean:

*to trick someone,
*a person who is not good enough,
*a piece of land of little value,
*wild plums and
*also pancakes.

A beautiful walk where anecdotes, folk figures, and the natural talent of the Scheldt play the main role.

You will pass by:

*the Red Hoeve: protected as a monument and village image, it is said to have formerly belonged to the estates of the Lords of Laarne. It certainly existed as early as the 15th century and has a double wall. Within the first wall was the Upper Court or residence of the lord, and within the second wall lay the Lower Court, the actual agricultural operation;
*the Bastenakkers: where picturesque corners and wide vistas alternate;
*Pollerweiden: a tree where the stone owl nests;
*the Scheldt valley.
