Along the breweries in Watou (theme route of the Watou rental bike). You start at the village office near the Watou square. From the village office, you walk across the Watou square with its many terraces, where you can perhaps recharge a bit. Over Vijfhoekstraat, you pass De Huurfiets Watou and the castle of Watou, and ride over Steenvoordestraat to Trappistenweg. After about one and a half km of cycling, you arrive at the St-Bernardus brewery and the B&B Het Brouwershuis. Then turn right into Rozendaal and at the end of the street, turn right again. Over Populierdreef, you ride to Steenvoordestraat. At the fork, keep left and take Gemenestraat, maybe stopping a bit further at Au Nouveau St.-Eloi, a cozy tavern with folk games. But back on the bike, to ride a bit further to the border station Callicannes, which is usually bustling. Then you take the left path to Poperinge to take the turnoff to Abeledorp a bit further. At the intersection with Trappistenweg, you take this road towards Watou. Next, take the first street on the right, Stoppelweg, a road with a beautiful panorama that leads you to Helleketel Forest, where peace and quiet prevail. At the end of the road, turn right onto Helleketelweg to admire the famous Helleketelboshäuschen on your right side. Turn left into the first street back onto Stoppelweg to finally arrive at Galerie de Katteman and Fazantheuvel. After a few hundred meters, you come to what used to be the De Bie Brewery. It is now a private house, please respect the privacy of the new residents. After a little more cycling, you arrive at an intersection with a concrete road, Kapellestraat. Now turn left to see in the distance the Catsberg on your left and Kasselberg in front of you. At the intersection with Palingstraat and the chapel in front of you, turn right into Palingstraat towards Watou. At the end of this street, you take the left Douvieweg towards Watou. After 100 meters from the marketplace, you have the brewery tavern Het Brouwershof and the Van Eecke brewery on your left side. Then, you cycle a few hundred meters straight back across the marketplace to the village office.
