A good starting point of the track is the De Ham car park in Oudenaarde. The first 10 km of the track will be on the asphalt cycle path above the old railway between Oudenaarde and Berchem (and thus literally ignore the Koppenberg). Then come the following climbs in the Flemish Ardennes, following the track counterclockwise:

The track is mainly on quiet roads in (quite) good condition. Apart from four climbs (Oude Kwaremont, Paterberg, Taaienberg and Berg Ten Houte), there are no paved roads on the road. The four cobbled climbs are easy to avoid. You can avoid the Paterberg and Oude Kwaremont by climbing the Waaienberg (the summit ends at the top of the Paterberg). And the Taaienberg can be avoided by taking a road just further south (Boitsbank, then Kleistraat) which runs parallel to the Taaienberg. The Berg Ten Houte can also be avoided via Markette and Vijverbeek.
