In 1446, knight Raes van Graven or Rasse de Grez (1368-1450) sold the Heverleebos and Blanden to Anton von Croÿ. This path leads to the furthest point at 'Rooikapel' in Blanden. Follow the rider's path of this impoverished knight.
The village of Blanden, originally Bijlanden, was formed around the Rooikapelhoeve with chapel in the 11th century. The lords of Bierbeek and Heverlee, the Abbey of Park and Groenendaal, as well as the Theological Faculty of the University of Leuven, appear in this medieval play. The families of Croÿ and Arenberg ended the fragmentation starting from the fifteenth century, a story that lasted three centuries.
