This rear-end walk starts at hotel Floreal and ends at the Sixth Line Square of Ramskapelle.
The route passes the following theme points:
1. Mouth of the Yser
2. Nature reserve IJzermonding with mudflats and salt marshes
3. Kattesas: attempted underwater settlement on 25 October 1914
4. Nieuwpoort: market with town hall, Church of Our Lady and city hall
5. Goose leg with vannen system of the Veurne-Ambacht Vaart. From here, the IJzervlakte to Diksmuide was flooded from 29 October. This created a "stable" front between Nieuwpoort and Diksmuide, defended by Belgian forces.
