The ridges, for a discovery of Durbuy and the Pays de la Famenne

This beautiful tour flirts with the peaks of the hills and follows the beautiful roads of the Condroz.

From Durbuy, our trail leads to the Condroz and follows a beautiful road to the hilltops of the region. From the beginning, there must be a lot of climbing. The summit is reached via Palenge. There is a beautiful panorama.

On the left we see the blurred blue line of the Ardennes while on the right we look at Chardeneux, one of the "Most Beautiful Villages of Wallonia", nestled in a lower area. A visit is recommended: in the middle of fields and fields, the village is a bright spot of the Condroz, with its many flowers and restored facades.

In addition, in the commune of Somme-Leuze, the road goes around the meadows: it looks like a rural postcard. We cross the fields and see the crossroads pass. They take us to a forest that we cross as we approach Grandhan. The return to Durbuy is along a pleasant green road that takes us to the heart of "the smallest city in the world".

Difficulty: A demanding circuit with steep slopes. However, the roads and tracks are very nice for cycling.

Children: From +/- 15 years old, trained!

Departure: Centre of Durbuy, near the bridge over the Ourthe. Follow the road towards Palenge.

Signage: Follow junctions 50, 52, 53, 54, 92, 91, 90, 10, 9, 8 and 7.
