Shortening Zenne - Zennemeanders - garden footpaths in Weerde (8km)

Start and end of the trip at the Kapelletje in the Vredelaan (next to the Belgacom mobile phone mast). The loop first goes to the football square of VK Weerde, after which it is taken to the right behind the railway line. On the next T
in the Gulderij you take the right and at the pijpekop you take the petting zoo. Just before this, take the first garden footpath on the left to the railway line.

At the third bridge over the shortening you cross them (beware, narrow bridge). Then take the first left (dead end Huidevetterstraat) where a narrow tunnel dives under the Brussels-Mechelen railway line.
150m further you walk on the Zennedijk (real meandering Senne).

Just behind the Weerdemolen you have a grove; behind it you immediately take left and follow the path that leads along the gardens of the Gildestraat (second garden footpath).
You continue to follow this path until you reach the railway line back in the Gildestraat. There you cross the street diagonally to the right and at the end you take the footpath to the busy Damstraat (carefully). Close to the railway line you think another footpath and continue straight ahead along the gardens of the Kerselarenweg (third garden footpath).

Once on the Kerselarenweg you take the third right and first left (Veldenstraat, one-way traffic)

The unpaved parts are in order: the garden footpath at the Gulderij (at the petting zoo), the meandering Senne, the garden footpath behind the grove at the Weerdemolen.

Perfect walk/jogging in the morning and afternoon until 4 pm (you benefit from the shortening to the full of the sun).
