Description by the author

What a beautiful lake region, the Lacs de l'Eau d'Heure! It is extremely pleasant to cycle along the banks on one of the most beautiful RAVeL routes in the country.

We go to Cerfontaine, a village whose fate is linked to the rivers that cross it. The Eau d'Heure River operated sawmills and clog mills. Today, it feeds Lake Falemprise.

The Eau d'Heure lakes site, with the largest artificial lake in Belgium, was originally built to build up drinking water reserves and supply the Brussels-Charleroi canal. In the meantime, it has become a prominent tourist attraction.

As soon as we leave, we walk along the shores of Lake Falemprise, where we can stop for a swim (in the authorized area). The road is pleasant, we pedal close to the lake of Eau d'Heure and the Plate Taille. Thanks to the newly built network of nodes, one can easily locate oneself. The route has no obstacles.
