Bike tour in the Ourthe valley

This magnificent 26 km mountain bike tour from La Roche-en-Ardenne will give you endless cycling pleasure in the Ourthe valley.

We leave La Roche and the medieval castle and follow the PIC Verts route (Plan d'Itinéraires Communaux Verts).

We start without much effort and keep a good pace. But a little further, you have to brave a steep slope to reach the village of Cielle. At the top, it descends to a small lost valley. The beautiful rugged Ardennes that have accompanied us since the beginning, turn into a wide and clear valley in Jupille. This is our first glimpse of the Calestienne.

The PIC Verts course is a real pleasure. We cycle along the Ourthe and cross the river by pretty bridges that are only accessible to cyclists. Be sure to take advantage of the Marcourt picnic site to catch your breath!

Type of route: RAVeL asphalted, small roads and stony paths.

Type of bike: Trekking or mountain biking.

Difficulty: 26 km round trip, without the variant. Pay attention to the slope towards Cielle. You will have to take a road where you will have to get off. Allow 1 km for this climb. The variant to Hotton follows the national road for 1.5 km and continues on the cycle path leaving Rendeux-Bas.

Children: From 12 years old.

Departure: From the car park, take the direction of the rue des Echavées passing in front of the campsites. Then, at the wastewater treatment plant, follow the blue signs.

Signs: Follow the blue signs for PIC Verts, direction Cielle, La Boverie then Rendeux.

Parking: Near the sports complex of La Roche, rue du Stade.
