The Genappe mountain bike circuit

This tour, with some calf bites, allows you to discover a beautiful countryside in the vicinity of Brussels which is surrounded by large forests and crossed by the Dyle.

From the beginning, in Baisy-Thy, nature claimed its rights. We cross the forest of La Tassenière, with different types of trees. Along the way, we discover three century-old beech trees and an oak, which stand out for their height.

A little further we arrive at the beautiful chapel of Try-au-Chêne. The route today crosses the Brabant countryside next to Bousval and the variation is omnipresent. We descend to reach the village on the Dyle.

Then it goes up again, to the edge of the forest of Thy. The route is well traced and follows slopes and descents, separated by small valleys. Further on, a steep slope leads to the Glabais ponds. After crossing a groom, we reach the village. Even though Brussels is nearby, the countryside here is authentic and peaceful, and looks charming. A final climb closes this demanding route and brings us back to Hattain.

Difficulty: A 27 km circuit with alternating smooth and slightly more difficult sections. Be careful when crossing national roads.

Departure: Place d'Hattain, in Baisy-Thy, take rue Saint-Roch.

Signage: Follow the signs of the mountain bike circuit (triangles and blue circles).

Parking: Near Place d'Hattain, in Baisy-Thu.
