Along the Semois

It is a real pleasure to ride along the beautiful Semois! It is a river that has remained completely unscathed.

Vresse-sur-Semois, surrounded by forests and basking on the banks of the Semois, has inspired many landscapers. It is the backdrop to this beautiful journey along the banks of the Semois.

Like the emblematic stone bridge of Saint-Lambert, it is a village on a human scale on the border of Belgium and the province of Namur.

There are no paved roads along the river. The Semois has no pollution, no sounds and has retained its pristine course. The path leads us to All.

We return along the other side which looks just as charming. In summer, a wooden basketry bridge (Pont de Claies) will be placed next to the road on the Semois. It is a legacy of the tobacco planters who traveled by the bridge, and therefore without detours, to their fertile fields along the river. One more small effort and you will arrive in Laforêt (one of the "Most Beautiful Villages of Wallonia"), where you can enjoy a beautiful setting and have a bite to eat at L'Epicerie café du Serpolet.

A cyclist-friendly region. Many cottages, guest rooms, hotels, restaurants, attractions ... with the label 'Bienvenue Vélo'.

A family tour of 20 km without major difficulties. Small hill to the village of Laforêt. Possibility to pedal directly to Vresse-sur-Semois down the main street in the center of Laforêt.

Departure
Go to the Semois and cross the Saint-Lambert bridge. Continue cycling along the Semois.

Signage
Follow mountain bike signs, yellow triangles and circles.

At the entrance of Vresse-sur-Semois, near the Tourist Office, rue Albert Raty.
