This magnificent circuit connects some important sites of our heritage: Ath, the Château de Beloeil and the site of Aubechies: you will not know which one to choose first.
The city of Ath, located at the confluence of the two Denders, invites you to stroll and breathe conviviality. Ath, best known for its exceptional folklore, is the city of giants. The famous Ducasse, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, has been making the hearts of the inhabitants beat for 5 centuries!
It is a wonderful starting point for a tour that connects culture with rural roads. From the Giant House we arrive quite quickly on the RAVeL 4 of the Blaton-Ath canal. Here we will enjoy the tranquility that the green landscapes radiate along the water.
The banks of the canal take us to Beloeil and its magnificent castle. Here it is finished with the RAVeL and we move on to the rural roads that lead us to Aubechies, one of the "Most Beautiful Villages of Wallonia", and its Archéosite®.
The village is characteristic of 19th century Hainaut architecture. With its Romanesque church, it has also preserved its soul. We return to Ath by small country roads. In the vicinity, we discover one of the oldest mills still in operation in the region: the Moulin de la Marquise in Moulbaix.
Good to know!
The network of crossroads "Picardy Wallonia by bike" offers 1,600 km of marked routes through 23 municipalities and 2 natural parks.
