Round Iron Valley

This bike route starts and ends in the historic Lo (Lo-Reninge). Along the route, you cycle through beautiful polder areas to Diksmuide and Veurne. Personally, this region (the IJzertall) is my favorite cycling area because it is completely flat, very quiet (a bit busier on Sundays in nice weather, but during the week you are there alone), and the view is fantastic. (However, watch out for the strong wind!) On the way, you briefly encounter the village of Sint Jacobskapelle just before Diksmuide. A village on the well-known path to Santiago de Compostela. You continue cycling through beautiful Diksmuide (Sunday recommendation: have a Papegaei at the Verstraete brewery) and on to the still original medieval Veurne. On the last stretch, you pass by Fortem, where you can visit the oldest still preserved old brewery and have a beer in the tavern. From there, it goes back over the Lovaart to Lo.
