Durbuy

The Ourthe is one of the most well-known rivers in the Ardennes. It originates from the confluence of the eastern and western Ourthe and then winds its way for 115 km through the Ardennes, the Famenne, and the Condroz to its endpoint in Liège, where it flows into the Meuse. The upper course, up to La Roche-en-Ardenne, impresses with its scenic beauty. In its middle stretch, the river flows more gently through the northwest of the province of Luxembourg, passing by popular tourist towns like Durbuy, Barvaux, and Bomal.
TYPE OF PATH
In short: You follow paved roads, except in forests where you are presented with a mix of unpaved forest roads and trails. At times, considerable climbs and descents are required. The route is unsuitable for wheelchairs and strollers.
DIRECTIONS
You follow large sections of a hiking trail marked with green crosses, but in reverse. Otherwise, road signs and markers are good tools to stay on the right path.
PARKING
If you cross the Ourthe Bridge in Durbuy coming from the city center, you can park your car in spacious parking areas on the left and right of the river. Parking is charged in the tourist season.
