Burtonville

Vielsalm is surrounded by extensive forests, including the Forêt domaniale du Grand Bois, which is a domain forest, along the N823 road that connects Vielsalm with Beho via Commanster. If you follow this road, you will automatically arrive at So Bêchefa, a clearing in the forest near a forest lodge, just south of the hamlet of Burtonville. There, the timber harvesting has set up a reception area with various facilities for a picnic: benches, tables, shelters, barbecue stations, and toilets, all within a lush green backdrop. So Bêchefa is an excellent starting point for a walk through the forest.
TYPE OF ROAD
You mainly follow various types of forest paths: paved, simply paved, and unpaved. After or during a rainy period, they can be quite muddy, and at some points, rubber boots might be pleasant. In the first part of the path, you also follow a road from the hamlet of Burtonville, which is about 700 m long and is asphalted. Strollers and wheelchairs cannot be taken along.
PATH ACCOMPANIMENT
Numerous hiking trails in the vicinity of So Bêchefa are marked, but the described path hardly uses any of them. Where sensible, signage will indicate which path markers you will encounter on your way.
PARKING
The reception area So Bêchefa is equipped with numerous parking spaces, shaded by trees and at the edge of the large area with the shelters. You just have to follow the P signs.
