Nature reserve het Burreken and its surroundings are among the most picturesque places in the Flemish Ardennes. Flower-rich spring forests, babbling brooks, meadows lined with willow trees, and sunken paths alternate in a small-scale pattern. In spring, you will be overwhelmed by the floral splendor of anemones, wild garlic, and hyacinths. We hike from the marketplace in Brakel to there, enjoying the expansive panoramas of the Flemish Ardennes along the way.
