GR 12 West (variant)

The GR 12 connects Amsterdam via Brussels with Paris over a distance of about 1,000 km: three European capitals on one footpath.

The Flemish part from Bergen op Zoom to Braine-le-Château is a surprisingly varied and green walking path in which not only Brussels and Antwerp, but also cities such as Lier and Mechelen are given a place.

The western variant GR 12 West (60 km) takes you from Schoten via the center of Antwerp to Mechelen. The route takes you past the most important historical places and buildings of the old city center, with sometimes surprising perspectives. But just as well you get through the green oases in the city center. South of Antwerp you walk through the various parks in the green outskirts and then via Kontich and Waarloos through nature reserve to Mechelen.
