Region-GR Kempen

The Streek-GR kempen is signposted yellow-red. It takes you from Baarle over Hoogstraten and Oostmalle to Herentals, the southernmost point of this loop. Then via Turnhout and Ravels back to Baarle. In the north, the path plunges into the Netherlands a few times. As a supplement, connections are provided between Oostmalle and Turnhout and between Herentals and Geel. Useful to map out a number of shorter walking loops.

The Kempen.
The silence that hangs over the fields there. The forests that groan ancient stories. The soggy Nete valley that revives Pallieter. The straight dirt roads of the border region where you walk between the dreams of the sheep. The Kempen, so many small joys for the hiker.
