This walk takes you to Brakel along the famous miners' path: a piece of the cultural heritage and history of East Flanders. The miners' trail along the former railway line 82 between Zottegem and Brakel is one of the many highlights of the hiking network of the Zwalm Valley and Bronbossen in the Flemish Ardennes. At the time, the path linked Zottegem to the Walloon Borinage coal basin where thousands of miners went daily to extract black gold.
