Prelude from Fields to the Symphony of Beech Forests and Ponds
 

On this day trip, you will hike on the GR 512, the Regional GR Green Belt, and the GR 12 variant.

The hike begins in the quiet village centers of Sint-Genesius-Rode and Alsemberg. The landscape then becomes more rural. You ascend to the plateau above the Zenne valley, and after passing through the Kleetwald, you can gaze out at the wide panoramas over the Brabant fields and reflect on landscapes of times past. At the Little Cabin, you reach the Soigneewald.
For the next 13 km, you will wander through this beautiful forest and past the many ponds and 'delles' that line up along Groenendaal and the upper course of the Termeulenbeek.
