Along roundish fields, on high dikes
 

A few kilometers from the city of Antwerp lies the municipality of Kruibeke with two gems of districts: Bazel and Rupelmonde. Your walk begins at Mercator Square in Rupelmonde, in the shadow of the statue of the world-famous geographer who gave this atmospheric village square its name. The baroque Church of Our Lady dates back to the eighteenth century. A few kilometers further you reach the beautifully recommended starting point, the Church of Sinaai, the preserved center of Bazel, and Wissekerke Castle. The so characteristic roundish fields of the Waasland continue to accompany us through the ‘Soete Land van Waes’. The signage of the Streek-GR Waas- and Reynaertland leads you to the banks of the Scheldt. Along the reed belts, you will reach the starting point again, together with the signage of the GR5A .
