Rendez-vous place de Thieusies in Thieusies. Cycle next to the café Le Métropole on Rue de la Motte and get out of the village past the village school. Just after the water tower, turn left onto the Chemin de Saint-Denis, direction Obourg. On the right, you see the Saint-Pierre chapel from 1889. You head towards the open landscape and skip a road on the left to the eighteenth-century Sainte-Anne chapel (also called Grandjean, after the man who had them built). Walk along the Ferme de Haute Folie and the small Chapelle Djan et Djène, on the right of the road. It now continues on a hollow road through the forest. When you go out, you're in Saint-Denis. On the slope to the right you can see the vineyards of Saint-Denis.
Cross an intersection and continue cycling to the T-junction. Our tour turns left, towards Oburg, but it is worth pedaling 200 meters to the right first. Ignore on the left the road to Casteau and the former Café de la Rampe and pass in front of the imposing Ferme de la Basse-Cour (1780) to the abbey of Saint-Denis-en-Broqueroie. The first guardhouse is closed, the second dates from the eighteenth century and is open. Browse it and discover some buildings and remains of the old abbey. Pass the gate next to the caretaker's building of the old spinning mill and cycle back along the street where you have just exit, towards Obourg.
After a few cobblestones, choose the fork on the left, direction Gottignies. At the next fork, at S.H.A.P.E. International Christian Center, turn left. Leave the rue des Ecoles on the right and go up the rue Raulier in the wood of Becqueron. At the first crossroads after the forest, turn left into Rue des Bruyères. After the last houses, you enter the open landscape. On the right, in the distance, you can still see a slag heap of the old coal mines and Thieu's boat lift.
Farm farms
You return to civilization and turn left at the first intersection in rue Samuel Manet, direction Thieusies. Ignore all secondary roads, pass the small chapel of Notre-Dame de Bon Secours and continue through the countryside. After a farm from 1932, you arrive at the fork with the Chapel of the Three Saints on the left. Turn right, pass a farm with a chapel in the wall and keep right at the Y-junction. Cross a crossroads and continue cycling along the grounds of the Château de La Baille Rouge. You can't see anything of the castle itself, but at the end of the road you have the front door on the left and another chapel on the right. Turn right here.
You pedal along a grove and further through the open landscape. Ignore a road for farm traffic on the left and turn left at the end of the road and right immediately after. Cross an intersection and pay close attention. You pass a grove and some fish ponds until you reach a quadrilateral with a chapel on the left. The chapel is hard to see when you arrive!
The road on the right is not paved. Take the road to the left for walkers, cyclists, horse riders and agricultural vehicles. You climb by a hollow road through the Bois Saint-Joseph. When you step out of the forest, you get a nice view on your left. Continue cycling along the gravel road to L'Equivalent riding school. Pedal straight on the asphalt, towards the water tower. Cross the busy N55 next to the Mulino Bianco restaurant and continue pedaling along Rue des Ecaussinnes. Cross an intersection and continue by bike to a T-junction. On the right, there is a dead end and a dirt road. Left. You pedal through an open landscape and a farm with a chapel and ignore all side roads until you cross a bridge at Little Holland.
On the other side, follow rue Jules Beghin on the right. You cycle along the impressive Ferme de Soummiau blanche and turn left with the road and turn right at the fork. Next to the cemetery of Mignault you will arrive on a priority road. Turn right towards Mignault centre. You cycle past the village school, then turn left onto the first road, Rue Martial Autier. On the meadows on the left, on the right houses that are very close to the road. Ignore a street on the right and turn left at the chapel with the road on the left. Cross a bridge and continue cycling along the White Hair Farm. Continue to follow the narrow paved road between the fields until the end. Turn left and follow the wide concrete road until you can turn right into Rue Victor Plancq at Saint-Donat Chapel with a sharp turn. You cycle along the Ferme de la Courte through the slightly hilly landscape with beautiful views of the T-junction.
Unnamed chapel
Follow rue Léon Roger to the left and turn right at the first intersection. Pass the Naast nameplate, a beautiful country chapel and Les Ecuries d'Ecaussinnes, where the best horses are bred and trained for show jumping. On the left of the road, 400 meters further, the Senne rises. Ignore all secondary roads and pedal right at the end, left it goes to Next and Soignies. You are now bolting onto a wider concrete road. At the fork, keep right and then ignore Rue de la Quenast on the left. So be careful! Just after the gentle turn, you take the street between the houses in front of a mirror on the left. This immediately turns into a gravel road with a strip of grass in the middle. Nothing for tubes, but otherwise a little adventurous and you experience nature very closely.
Enjoy the view and pedal quietly to the Ferme de la Loge. Here you are again on the asphalt. On the left, choose Rue de la Maladrie. Ignore Rue des Prés Mercq on the right and pass a curious unnamed square white chapel with a stone dome and a cross on top. At the end of the road you are in Naast. Turn right and immediately cross an intersection. Don't worry about back roads and cycle along the square with the church at the back of the intersection with a Louis Delhaize on the corner. Turn left towards Thieusies. Cross the N55 again and continue cycling along Rue de Sirieu until suddenly, on the right, you see a fortified meadow with a large agricultural complex with a bell tower behind it. In front of the brick chapel of Notre-Dame de Sirieu, turn right into Rue Gérard and pass the large farm with the seigniorial farm at the bell tower.
You now pedal on a narrow paved road and make a large arch through the agricultural landscape. Ignore on the right the road to Soignies and pass in front of the Ferme des Planques, the Ferme du Chêne Brûlé and the Ferme du Buchon until you reach the crossroads of the hamlet of La Saisine. On the right, at the corner, is the chapel Notre-Dame de La Saisine of 1669. Turn left and via Queen of Hungary Street to the grounds of the Park Castle. Follow the wall to the right and turn left at the junction with the octagonal chapel of Notre-Dame de Lourdes (1875). Pass the castle and associated yellow castle farm to the starting point
