Never thought we would find so much nature area all in one place, along with a piece of local history. Come along this varied, yet sometimes muddy path.

There is no better place to start this route than at the De Zande youth facility. Once a sugar factory, then a halfway house for needy youth and state educational institution. Today, they assist youths in their path to independence upon request from the juvenile judge. Along the way, you will learn more about this history. How they were able to learn with the "light sailors" at the Scheepsput and that small beggar children were taken in at the branch or Suekerzaole as it is commonly known.
Afterwards, you will go around the Sint-Pietersveld, a radio broadcasting station of the defense for worldwide contact with ships. Naturpunkt manages the greenery there. They also do so for the nature areas of Gulke Putten and Vorte Bossen. Behind the Carolus Borromeus Church of Doomkerke, you will then walk again through the Disveld landscape park. Here, crops were once grown and harvested for the Dis or almsgiving table. Thus, it will be a varied walk where there are many information boards from which you will surely take something with you.
